After a long career as a headteacher, I joined the management committee of St. Patrick’s Community Centre in November 2023 and was elected chair.

 

Many of the skills which I acquired in my professional life have helped me chair the committee and helped to manage the community centre. I deal with human resources, budgets and financial planning, fundraising, timetabling, maintenance issues and much more. I am very fortunate to have a committed and talented committee who share these tasks with experience and expertise. The recent appointment of a temporary Cleaner/ Caretaker has eased the workload considerably.

 

I enjoy the work and this enjoyment is greatly enhanced when I consider the improvements which the management committee has made to the fabric of the building. (These improvements have only been possible by the signing of a lease with the Diocese of Down and Connor.) The wide range of activities which we offer is another source of pleasure and I wish to express the gratitude of the Committee to our sponsors and funders.

 

It is my hope that more of our users will join the committee and help us steer St. Patrick’s Community Centre to further success.
